If you’re looking for some awesome playgrounds to get your kids out and moving around check out some of my favorite Cleveland Playgrounds!

1. Castletown Playground

Located at Roe Ln, Strongsville, OH 44136. This adventurous playground offers tons of fun for children of all ages! With it’s old fashioned wooden castle style, kids are able to put their imagination to good use. There are balance beams, tire swings, climbing walls, monkey bars, and a shaded pavilion area for lunch. Will all of it’s enclosed and hidden areas, it makes for a great game of hide and seek! Afterwards, take a walk over to Mitchell’s Homemade Ice cream shop for a tasty treat to cool off!

2. Carolyn Ludwig Mugrage Park

Located at 4985 Windfall Rd, Medina, OH 44256. This may be my most favorite Cleveland playground of all! Pack your kids up to spend the day here! Mugrage Park has so much to offer with it’s 102 acres. Not only is there a playground for all ages, but a beautiful 3 acre fishing pond with a pier, picnic shelters, walking trails and two dog parks. The playground area has a rubber safety surface that is not only soft for falls but you can avoid muddy shoes after a rainfall. Bring your fishing gear and your bicycles, skates or scooter’s to take a trip along the StoryWalk. Mugrage Park also provides water fountains and bathrooms on site.

3. Preston’s H.O.P.E Playground Park

Located at 26001 S Woodland Rd, Beachwood, OH 44122. Preston’s Hope is a huge play area for all children and children with disabilities. It’s filled with little playhouses to get those imaginations going, swings, slides, tunnels, a large sand area, climbing walls, a picnic area and bathrooms on site. The park is free to the public but they do appreciate donations to help with the maintenance of the park. Pack a lunch when you bring your little ones, it’s easy to spend a lot of time here letting them explore it all!

4. Coe Lake Park

Located at Coe Lake, Berea, OH 44017. This is a must to add to your list of Cleveland Playgrounds to visit! There are several huge and unique playground equipment to keep your children busy for hours. This is for children of all ages. It has a pirate ship looking play area for younger children and larger play areas for older children to enjoy as well with a zip line. Pack a lunch and enjoy the beautiful scenery from the stone pavilions. Take a walk on the paths around the lake, or bring your fishing gear to fish from the pier. In the summer time you can catch a historic car show or a horse and buggy ride. At night the trails are beautifully lit to enjoy a sunset walk. This is a popular park for wedding and prom photos so it can get busy at times. Being located in downtown Berea, there are lots of unique shops and good restaurants to explore too!

5. Liberty Playground

Located at 6363 Selig Blvd, Independence, OH 44131. For myself, this is a little longer of a drive but completely worth it! Liberty Playground is another park that has the rubber safety surface and ADA accessible equipment. In addition the playground, is a zip line, a sand table, and a safety town village for little ones to explore around, music panels, lots of climbing structures and slides. The park also has indoor bathrooms and plenty of shaded areas for parents.

6. Westlake City Recreation Center Playground

Located at 28955 Hilliard Blvd, Westlake, OH 44145. I accidentally stumbled across this playground and although it’s a little more of a drive for me, this is another playground that is worth the drive! It has several large playground areas for young and older children, and trails for walking, skating or bike riding. There is a massive hill for the winter time sled riding too! The park also provides indoor bathrooms and a picnic area. Not too far away is Huntington Beach in Bay Village to stop by and catch the sunset and some ice cream!

7. Lakewood Park

Located at 14532 Lake Ave, Lakewood, OH 44107. This one is a real treat to take your children to! With a gorgeous lake front view, it has huge and unique playground equipment for children of all ages. There are lots of paved pathways for walking with a beautiful view of the downtown Cleveland Skyline. Be sure to stop on the Solstice Steps for a view of the Lake Erie sunset. Close by is a skate park and Foster Swimming pool. There is lots to do so be sure to pack your snacks!

8. North Park

Located at 3595 Grafton Rd, Brunswick, OH 44212. This park has lots to keep your child active and it’s great for parents if your looking to get some walking or running in! Bring your fishing poles for the stocked 5 acre lake and nets to catch and release frogs and tadpoles. There are two playgrounds, one for the bigger children and one separate small playground for toddlers. Bring the scooters, bikes or roller skates to get some exercise riding around the lake. There are bathrooms on site and a few picnic tables and pavilion to pack your lunches or dinners. In the back of the park is large sledding hill for the winter!
